FIRST KARWACHAUTH!

So this was my first karwachauth and I was really excited for it.Got a new saree out from my saree trunk(yes I have a saree trunk that my mother gave me when I got married) made all the different things for the pooja sweets and poori and etcetra.I think I fared quite well I thought I would be hungry which I was in the evening (I even swatted my husband in throes of hunger anger) But boy did the moon tested me or what.It was really cloudy so couldn't see the moon until it was quite up in sky.
But it was quite a good day my hubby cooked for me and really took care of me.I think this is why we have all these fasting festivals so it can bond us together stronger.
So some pictures are coming up.Hope you like them. And next will be a makeup look from my Karwachauth pictures.
Me with the (awsome?) Rangoli I made waiting for the moon to rise

Fail safe Uttapam recipe.

Alright this is finally my first post and it is about something that I LOVE eating and something I actually took out time to learn from my mom.
It is a simple, healthy, super yummy uttapam recipe. This is what I make when I have no time to make anything else.So here is what you'll need:

Makes for 2 people:
100gm          Semolina (rawa/sooji)
5-6tbs           Curd (use one that is a bit sour)
1cup             Water
1 big              Chopped Tomato
1 med            Chopped Onion
1-2                Chopped Green chillies
1/2tsp            Red chilli powder
Salt to taste

So heres the hard part make sure you pay attention MIX EVERYTHING IN A BOWL *gasp* I know just be patient...sorry not funny I know. Anyway once you take care of the hard part get yourself a non-stick pan or tawa get it on stove and heat it then use the littlest of oil to grease.
TIP:use a kitchen towel after you grease the pan and then reuse to grease the pan in between uttapams.
So when the pan is hot pour a little mixture on it and spread it to a pancake thickness.Once the top changes colour which takes about 2 minutes  flip it over and cook for further 1 1/2-2 minutes. And its done.See easy.
It takes best with sambhar or coconut chutney.
So I hope you all will give it a try and if you do please do comment how you enjoyed it and please give suggestions about what you will like to see next
.
                                                          STAY HAPPY
